"Look I swear it's really not a Venom"

Shrouded in darkness, the NOTBRAND NotVenom is one of the first few R&D cables in our product line. It was then, when we just casually mentioned that "hey, we have a few cables" to a few friends - everyone seemed to gravitate to this pair. But I mean, why not? Doesn't it look sleek and gorgeous? ​

​

The NotVenom is composed of a mix of 6 different elements : Copper, Silver, Gold, Rhodium, Palladium, and carbon. This complex mixture of elements is presented with a black, glossy sleeve with subtly accented gold speckles throughout. There's two types of poison : 

- One of them is acute, and one of them slowly accumulates over time.

- With the aesthetics of this sleeve, it slowly but surely reels you in, making you love the looks of it even more as time goes on.

For the sonic properties of the cable, it is heavily dependent on the plating of the terminations from our testing. There is no instances of one being better than the other - its all down to just preference.

FOR GOLD PLATING TERMINATIONS (jacks and 2 pins) :

The NotVenom carries an analogue-ish sound (something close to R2R color) with a slight hint of warm on overall presentation. Besides that, expect an overall refinement in terms of clarity and technicalities.

​

Bass notes would hit strong and full of body, whilst not feeling bloated what-so-ever. Subbass rumble retains, but shall feel even better defined and controlled.

​

Vocals on the midrange would also benefit by being presented in an even more forward position whilst retaining its expansiveness aided by its  widened soundstage.

FOR RHODIUM PLATING TERMINATIONS (jacks and 2 pins) :

Gold is shiny; rhodium is shinier. Translating as directly as possible just from a visual standpoint - having a rhodium plated termination config makes the NotVenom carry a transparent sound throughout (we would describe it similar to a Questyle M15). Hence, we would consider the rhodium config to be more analytical than its gold counterpart.

Details retrieved from the rhodium config will definitely be slightly more than the gold config, and expect it to shine more.

​

Bass notes would retain its shelf, but significantly sounding more lean and tighter as compared to its gold termination config.

​

Certain people would prefer vocals to not be too in-your-face. Compared to the gold config, the presentation of vocals would be more in the middle of everything, rather than being the star of the show.
