When I (the writer of this page) was first introduced to cable rolling, you would think paying anything more than a few bucks for a cable for a pair of earphones is just absurd. Why not just invest in better IEMs? I would probably call you crazy and swore I will never purchase any cables that are more than 10USD.
And yet, here we are.
The NOTBRAND Cryo Copper is what we would consider the most basic yet worthwile entry into cable rolling.
Made of 7N Cryo OCC Copper, its transparent sleeves showcases the pure color of the element within. With its warm bronze tone and accented silver terminations, it will surely complement and contrast well with any IEM that you throw at it.
In terms of the cable's properties, the main improvements in no particular order are :
- Increased bass shelf, making the amount of lower and mid bass slightly elevated and more dynamic, as well as carrying a slight warm-note to it
- Improved midrange, where tracks will slightly be pushed more forward, which would benefit the dreaded recessed mids from certain IEMs
- Improved soundstage, where the width is slightly pushed out
